People who give up their time to support the NHS across the Fylde Coast were thanked at a special celebration event.

The chairs of NHS Fylde and Wyre and NHS Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Dr Adam Janjua and Roy Fisher, invited representatives to the event at Vicarage Park Community Centre in Poulton-le-Fylde.

Dr Janjua said: “We recognise the hard work of volunteers who give up their precious time to support the local NHS and its patients on the Fylde Coast.

“This is just one small way for us to say thank you for the hard work they have done and in anticipation of the work they will no doubt continue to do in the future.”

Groups represented included:

  • Patient participation groups (PPGs)
  • CCG Influence Panel
  • Fylde Coast Patient Cancer Care Improvement (PCCI) group
  • Fylde Coast Patient and Public Engagement and Involvement Forum

Attendees received an update from the two chairs on the latest developments within the Fylde Coast NHS and information on how local people have influenced the work of the CCGs over the past 12 months.

They were also treated to a performance from the choir at Poulton St Chad’s Primary School as well as a Christmas-themed quiz.
