VACANCY: Maternity Voices Partnership chair

Are you interested in the development and transformation of maternity care for women, babies and families?

NHS Blackpool and NHS Fylde and Wyre CCGs are seeking to recruit a service user chair for the Fylde Coast Maternity Voices Partnership.

This is a key role in providing the views of women, their partners and families to the Fylde Coast maternity, children and young peoples’ pathway meeting and the local maternity transformation system. This role will help to steer the further development of the Fylde Coast Maternity Voices Partnership (FCMVP).

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to women and their families on the Fylde Coast, with the impetus of Better Births and the maternity transformation programme supporting change.  The service user chair should have either personal experience of using maternity services or be in close contact with service users through a Maternity Voices Partnership.  It will be an incredibly interesting and varied role for someone who is committed to improving maternity services on the Fylde Coast for the benefit of the whole community.

This role requires:

  • leadership and strategic planning skills,
  • knowledge of maternity services issues and solutions,
  • an understanding of maternity-related evidence,
  • experience of service user engagement and co-production,
  • enthusiasm for innovation and continuous improvement.

We estimate the role will require a commitment equivalent to six days per calendar month (paid monthly), which can be worked flexibly, including meetings.  In line with recommendations made by the Lancashire & South Cumbria Local Maternity Systems Board, the chair will be remunerated at a rate of £100 per day.

This is an appointed role with a term of office of two years.
