Self care is about keeping fit and healthy, understanding when you can look after yourself, when a pharmacist can help, and when to get advice from your GP or another health professional. If you have a long-term condition, self-care is about understanding that condition and how to live with it.
Self care week is about promoting the best self care tips to inspire others.
Only 20 per cent of our health needs require a trip to the doctors or hospital, the rest are down to things such as environment and our own behaviour. By taking care of ourselves and adopting healthy lifestyles we can reduce our chance of becoming seriously ill and needing medical help dramatically.
We already have a great page all about self care here.
For Self Care week we want to use your experiences of lockdown to help other people. Below are some of the stories you have shared with us.
What have you done to look after your own health and wellbeing this year?
Have you been learning a new skill at home?
Have you been walking more often and if so do you have any favourite walks?
how have you been keeping in touch with friends and family?
As winter draws in we might be staying in more and the need to look after ourselves increases. We want to help as many people as possible.
If you have a hint or ‘life-hack’ that you can share then take a photo or make a short video about it. Submit your videos below and we will share them throughout the week.
