Interim Chief Officer
Blackpool CCG and Fylde and Wyre CCG
Andrew Bennett is the Interim Chief Officer for Blackpool and Fylde and Wyre CCGs, and the Interim ICS Lead for Lancashire and South Cumbria, leading a large health and care transformation programme across the patch.
Andrew joined the NHS in Preston in 1989 and has a general management background. He was appointed as the Chief Officer of Lancashire North CCG in August 2012 having held senior roles in hospital management, commissioning and performance improvement. He was the Senior Responsible Officer for the ‘Better Care Together’ programme across Morecambe Bay between 2013 and 2018 during which the partner organisations took part in the national New Care Models “vanguard” initiative.
As a result of the partnership work undertaken to implement ‘Better Care Together’, Andrew became the Chief Officer of Morecambe Bay CCG in April 2017 and in September 2018 was appointed the Executive Lead for Commissioning for the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS). He has led the development of the ICS’s plans for system reform, anticipating the introduction of legislation to place ICS on a statutory footing.
